About me

I’m sure no-one really wants to know much about me, but here we go anyway.

My name is Martha, I am a 15 year old girl from South-East England. I live with my Mum, Dad and younger sister Hannah who all enjoy eating my food! I am a Christian. I love to bake, as you have probably realised by now.

I started cooking when I was about 6 years old when my Mum let me help her and I learnt to peel potatos and make sauces for her. My passion really took of when I started learning proper cooking at school 4 years ago and I discovered I was actually quite good at it. From then on I would cook as often as I could, mainly when I got home from school. Other kids would stop of at the shop on the way home to buy sweets and chocolate, but I would come out with my self-raising flour and ground almonds. I certainly got strange looks at the check-out, an 11 year old girl buying ground almonds…

4 years on, baking is more than a hobby, Its a passion. Cook books aren’t just books, they are the inspiration and direction in my food. I read my cook books before I go to sleep and plan what I’ll cook the next day, my parents have to ask me what I want to buy when they go shopping! I cook in a great big mess, so my family avoid the kitchen if they don’t want to end up covered in flour or icing sugar, but the end results are often worth the clear up effort!
